    I've always been told that you should never plant potatoes too near apple trees. I've never actually done it so I don’t know what happens (maybe it’s explosive!) but more likely they both just go mangy and die…

    My corgettes were planted at the foot of an apple tree and have also died. Could be the acidity in the soil
