    Does anyone know of a variety of lettuce that combines the crunchiness of iceberg but with a much stronger taste, like Chinese lettuce?

    I don’t know why anyone bothers with iceberg lettuce – Batavian lettuce is much nicer, with a lot more taste but a similar texture.
